Being able to chew food properly is one of the most essential need of every individual.
Replacing missing teeth with denture makes the person to be able to chew again.
When there are no teeth present, they can be replaced using complete removable denture.
But many times it becomes difficult to adjust to the lower denture.
The lower complete denture doesn’t sit properly.
This problem is more when the lower gum ridge is resorbed and has become flat.
Such was the problem when this patient came to Happy Smiles Dental Clinic, Pune.
She was already using a complete denture.
But now it was giving her trouble with fitting.
Her lower gum ridge had become flat.
We placed 2 implants in her lower jaw and waited for 3 months.
The implants got fixed in the surrounding bone.
Attachments were placed on these implants.
New complete denture was made. Other part of these attachments was present in the new lower denture.
Now the lower denture had additional support from implants, making the fitting good.
Due to the implants, new denture fit with a snap fit.
She was very happy to be able to eat without any problems.
