Loosing something is always difficult to cope.
So loosing many teeth is traumatic.
Once a tooth is lost, several things begin to happen that are not immediately noticeable to a patient and which can have a significant negative effect on both health and appearance.
If they are not replaced, the other remaining teeth have to work extra. This affects their health.
When a tooth is lost and not replaced, the underlying bone starts resorbing over time, thus decreasing in height.
When this patient came to Happy Smiles Dental Clinic, Pune she wanted a fixed permanent solution for her missing teeth.
All of her upper left back teeth were missing. Due to this, she was able to chew only from her right side.
The ideal solution was to replace these missing teeth with Implants.
On doing some scans, we found that her underlying bone height is less than required for Implants.
For placing dental Implants, it’s important that there is enough bone height available.
So her bone height was increased by placing bone graft and then dental implants were placed.
We waited for 3 months for the implants to osseointegrate in the surrounding bone and get fixed.
Once the implants got fixed, permanent caps were given on the implants.
She was happy to be able to chew properly from both sides.
